Meena Durairaj, who is simply known as Meena, is a popular Tamil Actress.

Born on 16 September 1976 in Chennai in the state of Tamil Nadu, Meena began her stint in Indian cinema as a child artiste at the tender age of six. She has acted in more than forty-five Tamil and Telegu films as a child artiste. To date, she has played both guest and leading roles in more than 50 Malayalam, Tamil and other films as an adult.

This Tamil actress is capable of speaking six languages, which are English, Tamil, Telegu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi. Apart from acting, Meena has also tried her hand at modeling, TV hosting and singing. She has modeled for various adverts for different brands of jewelry and cosmetics.

In spite of a busy acting career throughout her whole life, she managed to finish her studies up to Masters Level. She graduated with a MA in History from the University of Madras in 2006. Apart from her academic qualifications, she is also a trained Bharathanatyam dancer.

Her father, Durairaj, is of Tamil origin while her mother, Raj Mallika, is a Malayalee. According to Meena, her mother played a key role as her guide and advisor for her acting career. On 12 July 2009, Meena married Vidyasagar, a Bangalore software engineer at the well-known temple, Tirupathi Temple.

According to sources, it was an arranged marriage. Their spectacular wedding reception was held two days after the wedding in Chennai. In spite of her marriage, Meena continues to act as usual, without being choosy about any particular Tamil Movie role. However she needs to be smart about her choices, there are many fine actress that are comanding top dollar like Bhavana, Trisha and Asin.
