Saving Money With Dish TV Service

One of the big complaints about cable TV service is the cost. Of course, many fail to remember that they may not just be paying for their cable television lineup if they have a triple play bundle subscription. Oftentimes when your bill is around $150 a month you look at it as being for just cable TV when in actuality it also includes your high speed internet access and your local phone service as well. Many though have decided to drop their home line and just use their cell phones instead.  Another option to consider though is satellite TV service through Direct TV or Dish Network.

A satellite subscription is often cost effective for two reasons. First, the satellite company is willing to give you a break on the price in order to entice you over. Both Dish TV and Direct TV give you a discount on the monthly rate for a period of twelve months, then you revert to the normal price for the rest of the two year contract.

The second reason satellite television service is usually cheaper is the lower operational costs enjoyed by satellite companies. Basically, their main cost is getting the satellites into orbit, and placing the satellite dish units on the homes they serve. Of course there are programming fees to pay, but those are fairly close to what the cable companies pay. On the other hand, cable operators have an actual network of coaxial cable lines that have to be physically placed and maintained. The result is usually higher priced charged to recoup the higher operational costs involved.

The wise thing to do as a consumer is comparison shop. Take a look at your current bill and compare it to the Dish Network package prices out there to see which is the better deal.
