Modern Fire Pit Designs

Many manufacturers have started to sell propane fire pits. Up until recently the majority of fire pits on the market have been those fueled by fire wood. A demand from the public for fire pits that are kinder to the environment and cause less mess for an easier clean – up has finally been answered by many of the top companies making propane fire pits.

Some of the advantages to owning a propane fire pit is the convenient and simple method in order to start them. This is done either by a match but more are made to start by simply switching on the ignition switch. The clean up is also much easier with a propane unit since they do not create any mess with ashes and smoke. They tend to be more safe to use because of not burning fire wood in the pit. With fire wood there is more opportunity for embers to jump out of the pit and onto landscape or other near by flammable items. It is easier to maintain the fire pits nice appearance with less smoke being generated since this eliminates the black tar build up from the smoke on the unit. The need to remove ash from the fire pits bowl after burning fire wood is also eliminated with a propane unit. The propane tank only needs to be re-filled occasionally depending on how much you use the gas fire pit.

Propane fire pits are also convenient for those desiring mobility since they are easy to take with you when going on camping trips as well as to move around to different areas of the back yard. Many people desire a propane fire pit because of its ability to double as a cooking grill besides just being used to generate warmth on cold winter evenings.

There are two types of propane fire pits with one having the fire ring covered or enclosed and the other with the ring being placed on a raised frame. If you are wanting a fire pit to add to the appearance of your surroundings then an enclosed fire ring is the way to go since these tend to be nicer in their over-all appearance.
