How Effective Is The 2010 Registry Easy Download At Registry Repairs?

Another year and there is another version of the Registry Easy download available. This registry cleaner application has been a popular utility for a number of years now, but the market is flooded with numerous competitors so they have been attempting to add more features. This article steps through the newer features, good and bad, to see what has changed.

The Registry Easy download size is quite small and installs with no bother at all (uses install shield).

The previous interface has really only been tweaked a little this year. Its core task of scanning registry files is still done in a simple 1-click approach taking away any complexity (something that advanced users do often want).

In comparison to other registry tools, the program did find a number of legacy key settings relating to some uninstalled applications and was able to automatically put them right. Hardware changes were also detected (switching printers) but this was less severe in terms of registry issues that can be experienced.

The backup feature works well as before though the one niggling point is that backups are not automatically done (as in other programs). This does open up the potential for users making changes and not being able to restore a recent registry. As long as you remember to manually run the backup then you should be fine.

In terms of value added features the product now also has a junk file/duplicate cleaner and an evidence wiper both of which come in handy and broaden out the computer maintenance and repair tasks that program is capable of doing. The one disappointing point is the level of documentation which new users may be displeased with (the online forums are good though so most FAQ type queries are covered there).

All in all, the 2010 Registry Easy download is a stable and effective product. Advanced users may still miss the extensive customization seen in other tools, but for most users this is a minor point.
