Considering Undergoing Cosmetic Procedures? Pay Attention to the Aesthetic Center

There is no doubt that American is becoming more body conscious as the rate of obesity in this country continues to reach epidemic proportions. In addition, no matter how one looks to others, most people have an issue with their own appearance and desire to improve it in some way. As a result, the desire to look better has created a highly lucrative multi-billion dollar industry that continues to grow, even in this poor economy. In fact, the American Society of Plastic Surgery reports that cosmetic procedures have increased by nearly 85 percent in the last ten years. This includes a reported 11.5 procedures performed during 2006 alone for all kinds of plastic surgery, including Botox injections as well as Lipodissolve or liposuction for full body reshaping.

Despite its popularity, there are several things to consider before having any work done. Among them is personal safety. Before going to any aesthetic centers for cosmetic procedures (such as Lipodissolve) be sure that it’s an accredited medical facility, run by a doctor certified by the American Board of Plastic surgery here in the United States or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Both require all doctors to have at least six years of surgical experience and a minimum of three years performing plastic surgery.

It is also important to remember that cosmetic improvements are not achieved overnight. Most require several sessions. Anyone going to a Lipodissolve center, for instance, will need approximately 8 to 12 sessions before goals are realized. In addition, most results will not begin to be evident until the third treatment. In addition, while the treatments are said to be physically “painless”, they are not “painless where one’s pocketbook is concerned. Nor are results permanent. Most will probably have to be repeated in the future.
