If you are an environmentalist you may hate the chainsaw machine and consider it the main culprit behind the mass trees cutting. Well the culprit is not the machine but the man behind the machine.
Whenever you are buying the chainsaw for the first time, you will have to choose between the two main categories i.e. the electric chainsaw and the gasoline chainsaw. Both of them have certain advantages and disadvantages. Let us compare them so that you can choose which one is perfect for you:

Size and Weight
Electric chainsaw is light in weight and small in size as compared to the gasoline counterpart making it more portable.

Power
The gasoline chainsaw is more powerful than the electric chainsaw offering heavy duty services. The electric chainsaw is a light duty machine and cannot be used for heavy log cuttings.

Maintenance
The gasoline chainsaw requires more regular maintenance and service as compared to the electric counterpart.

Scope of Operation
Gasoline chainsaw has no cord as it is powered by gasoline making it functional at places where electricity is not present. The dependence of electricity limits the operating scope of the electric chainsaw.

Cost Effectiveness
With gasoline prices increasing every month, the gasoline chainsaw is not as much cost effective as the electric chainsaw.

Japanese brands are very famous among chainsaw users. According to online chainsaw reviews, the Makita chainsaw are considered the best when it comes to quality and performance.

Have you ever caught yourself in the middle of a downpour stuck in your car because you don’t have something to keep you from getting soaked? That’s where the waterproof coats come in. With brands like Gore Tex and Carhartt your ability to not need a change of clothes because of the rain is available like never before. Waterproof coats are able to keep you from getting wet in every type of situation. Once I was stuck helping my girlfriend clean out her father’s pig barn and I was stuck investing in a waterproof coat or I would have found myself standing knee deep in water and soaked to the bone. These coats are supreme investments when it comes to helping keep yourself and your family dry in every single situation from monsoons to pig barns.

Now that I think about it, it would have been helpful to me if I would have picked up a pair of Goretex shoes. These shoes come in all shapes and sizes and have the ability to keep your feet as dry as the dessert no matter where you find yourself. What’s even better about the Goretex shoes is the variety of prices and styles they come in. This gives everyone from the Tiny foot Timmy to someone like myself who has size fifteen feet we are all able to wear the Goretex shoe proudly and keep our feet from getting soaked.

Everyday situations call for us to have some sort of help. In rain, it’s the umbrella, but if the rain is so horrible that you find yourself wishing you would have invested in a carport instead of a canopy over the picnic table then waterproof coats, and goretex boots are the things that you need to find yourself investing in next, after all what beats singing in the rain with the ability to stay dry?

Many manufacturers have started to sell propane fire pits. Up until recently the majority of fire pits on the market have been those fueled by fire wood. A demand from the public for fire pits that are kinder to the environment and cause less mess for an easier clean – up has finally been answered by many of the top companies making propane fire pits.

Some of the advantages to owning a propane fire pit is the convenient and simple method in order to start them. This is done either by a match but more are made to start by simply switching on the ignition switch. The clean up is also much easier with a propane unit since they do not create any mess with ashes and smoke. They tend to be more safe to use because of not burning fire wood in the pit. With fire wood there is more opportunity for embers to jump out of the pit and onto landscape or other near by flammable items. It is easier to maintain the fire pits nice appearance with less smoke being generated since this eliminates the black tar build up from the smoke on the unit. The need to remove ash from the fire pits bowl after burning fire wood is also eliminated with a propane unit. The propane tank only needs to be re-filled occasionally depending on how much you use the gas fire pit.

Propane fire pits are also convenient for those desiring mobility since they are easy to take with you when going on camping trips as well as to move around to different areas of the back yard. Many people desire a propane fire pit because of its ability to double as a cooking grill besides just being used to generate warmth on cold winter evenings.

There are two types of propane fire pits with one having the fire ring covered or enclosed and the other with the ring being placed on a raised frame. If you are wanting a fire pit to add to the appearance of your surroundings then an enclosed fire ring is the way to go since these tend to be nicer in their over-all appearance.

Thousands of Americans have begun getting ready for Summer. Summer is officially here. The recent Memorial Day holiday kicked off the Summer holiday season.

Where are you going for your Summer vacation? If you are like other Americans, you have decided to take your RV out. You probably will either take your RV out for several mini-trips or one grand vacation. Either way, you are sure to have a blast in the comfort of your RV.

Will you be going to the lake this Summer? Imagine yourself relaxing out on the lake? There are many things to keep you busy. You can sunbath, fish, swim and much more. Whatever you do, you are sure to appreciate the luxury of your RV and hopefully your RV mattress.

Will you be headed to the beach this Summer? Imagine building sand castles with your children. Imagine relaxing by the soothing sound of the waves crashing to the shoreline. Then, you get to go home to the comforts of your very own bed.

You can take the real luxury of home on the road with you. You can take your extremely comfortable bed. According to consumers around the world, memory foam mattresses are the most comfortable and affordable mattresses on the market.

Memory foam beds use your body temperature to heat the foam. Once the foam has been heated (this process take a matter of seconds), it begins to conform to your body. Thus, you can sleep in a mattress cradle custom-tailored to your individual shape and sleeping position. This cradle allows you to sleep better and longer. The quality of sleep you receive on a daily basis will be enhanced.

Make your 2010 road-trip an unforgettable one. From the activities you do during the day to the quality of sleep you receive at night, your road-trip needs to be incredible. Plan ahead and upgrade your RV beds to memory foam. That is the surest way to make your road-trip incredibly awesome.

If the only kind of camping you do is the kind where you drive up to a campsite and unload your posessions like a barbeque, tables and lawn chairs, tents, and many comforts of home, you will probably want a camp shower that is easy to use, reliable, and provides as much hot water as you need. Unless you’re into harnessing the energy of the sun for use in heating, like in solar camp showers, and willing to forego a hot shower if it’s an overcast day (which I highly doubt), you will want an outdoor camping shower that delivers as much hot water as you want, when you want it, and right when you want it. You will want a camp shower that is powered by a non-solar energy source, meaning here either propane or another fuel.
The best choice for people like yourself, who don’t need to worry about carrying weight on their backs like backpackers do, is probably something like the Zodi Propane Shower and Hot Water Heater. This works using propane and batteries to supply continuous hot water in quanitity, meaning your whole family can get a nice hot shower. You are thus not at the mercy of whether the sun is showing itself or not on any particular day.
For family camping trips where privacy might be an issue, car campers will also want to get a camping shower enclosure such as a camping shower tent. This way, each person can get some time to themselves and shower without worrying about someone stumbling across them in the nude.
Another option for car campers is a camp shower that hooks up to your car. The water in these showers is heated up using the heat given off by your car’s cooling system. The downside to this is that your car has to run in order for the water to be heated up, so this is most ideal for trips where you know you will be driving most of the day and then stopping off to camp somewhere for the night.

A trailer tent is perfect for you if you would like to get close with nature. It allows for a place much more than a regular tent. Most trailer tents feature awnings that increase the size of the trailer two to even three times as much space allowing for a very comfortable and roomy feel. You should research and read about tents before buying. This article is for helping those who are interesting in buying but would like to know more about trailer tent camping.

The features of the trailer tent depend on the model you buy. You can also buy extra accessories if needed. The most common features include kitchens, awnings, and beds. Tents these days come with two to three burner stoves, a sink, a small refrigerator, a small countertop, and even come with some bathrooms.

Awnings are usually included with a trailer tent. They increase the size nearly three times! It is made of canvas creating a nice and roomy space which you to spread out in the additional room. Awnings are waterproof so you do not have to worry about your possessions getting wet. Also, when in the summer, there is a sun awning that protects you from the sun.

All trailer tents have beds and they usually suspended off the ground. Most tents are able to fit additional people especially if the awning is large. Some have other features as well. For example, some have air conditioning, extra room, a furnace, and a bike or boat mount. These trailer tents allow a very luxurious outdoors vacation.

There are many different kinds of trailer tents. There are folding ones, flip tops, and folding camper tents. Fold tents fold out of the trailer and are set up like a tent. Its rigid frame and canvas material gives the appearance of a tent. They come with two awnings, a sun and a regular one.

The flip top tent is very easy to set up and take down. In just a few minutes it would be fully set up. It opens from the top and unfolds to become the frame of the tent. It comes with a few awnings as well. The folding camper has the looks of the bottom half of a small camper. It is very lightweight and can be pulled by a car. It has a very roomy interior that can fit up to four people to sleep. This number can be even more if you set up the awnings.

If you cannot afford a tent, you may be able to buy a used trailer tent. Make sure you research and check it thoroughly. Inspect the interior and make sure nothing is seriously wrong with it. Notable brands to look out for are Conway, Pennine and Trigano Trailer Tents.

The costs of trailer tents vary widely because of the size, quality, manufacturer, and ratites. You can expect around three thousand dollars minimum for a basic standard model. For the most luxurious ones, they can be up to fifteen thousand dollars.

Thinking about buying a propane heater, but have no idea where to start? With a few simple guidelines and a handful of facts, you will get the know-how needed to purchase the perfect propane heater for your space.

By far the best feature of propane heaters is that they don’t need an electric outlet to produce heat. As you may’ve already guessed, propane heaters run on propane gas, and they heat the surrounding area by burning fuel. Thus, no electricity needed. The biggest advantage here is that the average propane-fueled heater is very energy efficient because all warmth is made from burning the fuel. Compare this to an electric heater, where a lot of energy can be wasted through the electrical resistance of heating elements.

Because no electric outlet is needed, you can heat patios, decks, campsites, or any other location without an easily accessible outlet. Be cafeful, though — since propane is burned, carbon monoxide is exhausted. This means that propane heaters shouldn’t be used in enclosed spaces, like a bedroom or living room. Be sure that there is plenty of ventilation when using your propane heater.

You’ve likely come across the patio propane heater. They’ve become popular lately, and can provide heat to a fairly large area quite efficiently. Their large, free-standing, torch-like housing radiates heat in a wide area, and is perfect for outdoor living areas, such as patios, outdoor kitchens, or decks.

Calculating Fuel Usage for Propane Heater

To calculate just how much propane you’ll need for a heater, first check out the BTU rating of the heater. A patio propane heater could be rated at 30,000 BTUs / hour, for instance. One gallon of fuel can create about 91,500 BTUs of heat. To figure out how many hours of heat you can get out of that tank, simply divide 91,500 by the heater’s BTUs — In this case, we discover our heater will run a little over 3 hours before you need to refill it.

Let’s say you spend roughly 20 hours per month out on your deck in the fall, so by doing a bit of math we figure you will need 6-7 gallons of propane to keep warm each month. Using these quick calculations, you can help figure the cost-effectiveness of the propane heater you’re considering, and you can better anticipate fuel costs associated with owning it.

One thing to keep in mind is that smaller fuel tanks only hold about 80% of their rated capacity. Therefore, a tank labeled at a capacity of 10 gallons will only provide about 8 gallons of fuel. For this reason, it never hurts to slightly overestimate your needs when purchasing fuel so you don’t run out of propane on a chilly evening!

If you’re searching for efficient and portable heaters for well-ventilated areas such as decks and patios, give propane heaters a shot — Just be sure to do the math first!

Every since I got my electric camping lantern, camping has never been the same again. There is nothing worse than setting up your tent in the dark. Tip number one is always try to give yourself plenty of time to get to your campsite and set up your tent while it is still daylight out. The only thing that beats setting up your tent in the dark is setting up your tent in the rain. But hey, we are supposed to be talking about the camping lantern so let’s get to it.

We go our first lantern as a free gift from some rewards program. It was a Coleman camping lantern and this one just happened to be a rechargeable one. It had two different levels of brightness and a cute little yellow nightlight. I figured the night light was for the times when you wake up in your tent and you need to find something like your pants and you don’t want to wake up your tent partner so you just turn on this night light and all is well.

The two levels of brightness are not very distinguishable. First off the bulb is one of those CFLs, if you don’t know what that is it is the light bulb that looks like a curly cue. I figure that saves more battery power since it takes less energy to power a CFL versus an incandescent light bulb.

We enjoy having our rechargeable camping lantern with us in the tent when we are getting ready for nighttime. It is kind of awkward trying to hold a flashlight and put on your pajamas at the same time so a lantern makes it all a lot easier.

The only complaint I have about this type of camping lantern is that if you lose the charger for it then you can’t recharge it and it is practically worthless then. In my case the charger wasn’t anything fancy it was just a regular AC adaptor, one I can probably find at my local radio shack.

In summary I highly recommend getting an electric camping lantern versus a gas lantern for your camping adventures. It is totally safe and very easy to use.
